About the Program
ITMO Fellowship and Professorship Program aims to provide outstanding researchers and scientists with the opportunity to build an independent research career. Our intention is to foster the next generation of researchers with the greatest potential in their early career or professorial stages.
The applications are reviewed by the Program committee six times a year. The approved applicants are invited to start collaborating with ITMO University laboratories within 6 months after the announcement of the decision.
ITMO F&P administration team will assist the successful candidates with obtaining Russian visa, choosing flights and accommodation, and will provide support upon arrival to St. Petersburg. Please, contact us, if you have any questions.

ITMO University is looking for Early Career Researchers to join the ITMO Infochemistry Scientific Center, as a part of ITMO Fellowship and Professorship Program. ITMO Infochemistry Center grew from an eponymous research group led by professor Ekaterina Skorb, formerly a group leader at the Max Planck Institute and Harvard researcher working with today’s most cited chemistry experts. We expect candidates to fit into cross-disciplinary field, which brings together chemistry, IT, and mathematics. The group's main focus is on theoretical and empirical research in the area of physical-organic, polymers chemistry, DNA oscillating reactions, organic chemistry, photochemistry, catalysis, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and electrochemistry. Researchers are expected to contribute to the research held in the Infochemistry Scientific Center by active cooperation with its staff, writing and publishing articles on the topic of collaborative scientific work, and sharing their international experience with students.

The Digital Humanities Center (DH Center) in concert with the ITMO University Fellowship & Professorship Program is pleased to invite applications for fixed-term postdoctoral fellowship beginning no later than the next academic year. As a member of the DH Center team, the candidate is expected to conduct research related to digital humanities and also to teach two courses for the Data, Culture and Visualization International Master's program.
ITMO's Art & Science Center is looking for early career researchers to join the AI Ethics & Aesthetics Lab, as a part of the ITMO Fellowship and Professorship Program. The AI Ethics & Aesthetics Lab is a transdisciplinary research laboratory aimed at developing and expanding academic and public dialogue about AI ethics in all aspects of private and public life – in particular, art and culture. The research examines the use of AI in terms of ethics, aesthetics, and AI for sustainability. The research group is led by Helena Nikonole, new media artist, independent curator, and educator whose fields of interest embrace hybrid art, the new aesthetics, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence.
ITMO's Art & Science Center is looking for an outstanding research fellow/group leader to create an interdisciplinary research team, which will bring together IT, biotechnologies, robotics, and art (arts and humanities).
